I would love to bring a concert or workshop to your organization! Below are descriptions of several presentations I can offer. Email me for more info!
The Shameless Shebrew: Songs for Body Acceptance and Mental Health
The Shameless Shebrew (Amber Ikeman) shares hopeful, heartfelt stories and original folk/pop songs about her tumultuous journey towards accepting her body and well-endowed nose, navigating depression and anxiety, and wrestling with patriarchal Jewish traditions. You will leave inspired and empowered to express yourself authentically, end stigma, foster acceptance for neurodiversity (for others AND yourself!) and build a more size-inclusive world.
Shameless Songwriting
Songwriting can be a powerful way to express yourself. Learn tools to develop a song idea, pair lyrics with rhythm and melody, quiet your inner critic, and share your truth. Use writing exercises to craft your own piece and have a chance to share (optional).
Oy, Mama!: Songs and Stories about Jewish Mothers
Singer/Songwriter Amber Ikeman presents classic Yiddish folk songs, original pieces in English, and heartfelt stories about the women in her family – who may remind you of those you love, Jewish or not. Tales of courageous migration from Europe, expression of caring through food, and boundary-testing relationships offer insight about a Jewish Mother’s quirks and virtues, and celebration of her intense love.
Here are some of the places I’ve presented on these topics:
